Stevie Wynne Levine is the Chief Creative Officer of Mythical Entertainment, host of the Best Friends Back, Alright! podcast, and the voice of Good Mythical Morning with Rhett & Link, but did you also know she’s a connoisseur of grocery store nuts? Or that she strongly believes that different kinds of milk have different purposes? Let’s take a look into who Stevie is based on how she buys her groceries.

The first thing you might notice about Stevie is that she doesn’t do her shopping at a single grocery store. Typically, she hits up all of her big three—Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Ralphs—when she needs to restock her pantry. Whole Foods is where she buys her “fresh foods,” while Trader Joe’s is her “snack place.” Finally, she has to make a stop at Ralphs for her favorite snack of all time: the Simple Truth Sea Salt Roasted Deluxe Nut Mix.
Stevie is extremely picky about her mixed nuts. She swears that Ralphs Simple Truth brand has the nut mix to end all nut mixes. Whole Foods’ 365 brand takes second place. Trader Joe’s comes in at third place.
Mixed nut brands aren’t the only thing Stevie has very specific preferences about. She also believes that different types of milks have different uses. Almond milk is only for cereal. Oat milk is for iced coffee. And, much to her dismay, cow’s milk must be purchased for her girlfriend.
When she’s not cooking meals from her subscription meal service, Stevie describes her homemade meals as “basic.” For breakfast, she’ll have some toast with cream cheese, TJ’s Chili Onion Crunch, and a boiled egg, or a bowl of Life, her current cereal fixation, with almond milk. For lunch, she loves a “grazing situation” of nuts, hummus, cheese (thin-sliced white cheddar or Humboldt Fog if she’s feeling fancy), and veggies. When she’s in alone for dinner, she’s typically making fish sticks or Impossible nuggets and roasted asparagus or Brussels sprouts with an aioli dipping sauce.
Stevie doesn’t buy much junk food because that is her girlfriend’s expertise. Cassie, Stevie’s partner of 11 years, brings home sweets and chips throughout the week.
One thing Stevie must have on her grocery list? Bacon. Monday through Friday, she doesn’t eat meat in her house. She does, however, have meat on Saturdays and Sundays for breakfast. “Weekend breakfast is my favorite meal,” she says. The bacon typically accompanies eggs (which she likes “all kinds of ways”) or bread from Tartine Bakery with cream cheese, heirloom tomato, salt, and pepper.
My biggest takeaway from interviewing Stevie about her groceries? I need to see if I can get her to invite me over this Saturday. I’ll bring the bacon!
