The best sriracha is garlicky, spicy, and super versatile. It should go well on pad thai, pizza, breakfast sandwiches, and basically anything else you can imagine. I love sriracha so much and was absolutely thrilled to do this taste test.

Like many people in America, I always have Huy Fong sriracha in my fridge. I was curious, however, to find out if Huy Fong is truly the best sriracha sauce on the market. Yes, it’s the most readily available option, but is it the most delicious? I was determined to find out.

Not to be click-baity, but the results might actually surprise you. They certainly surprised me! Here is a list of the best sriracha brands we tasted during our ultimate spicy sriracha showdown.

Best for Dipping

Everyone thought Lee Kum Kee was a nice, solid option. It has garlic and spice, which is exactly what I think of when I think of sriracha. What sets it apart is that it tastes a little like sriracha mixed with a dash of soy sauce. It’s very savory and a little less spicy than some of the other sriracha brands we tried. Because of this, I think it would be perfect for dipping dumplings or tempura or a banh mi. To be honest, this is a good dipping sauce for pretty much anything. Its versatility is what makes it one of the best sriracha sauces we tasted.

Best Unique Runner-Up

Fix Lemongrass Sriracha is super acidic and tangy. Much like the name promises, it has a strong lemongrass flavor that sets it apart from all the other sriracha brands we tried. This has enough flavor and dimension that you could use it as a sauce and not just a hot sauce. This would be so, so, so good on stir-fried noodles. The first bite doesn’t taste crazy spicy, but the spice builds as you eat. By the end of a dish topped with this sriracha, you will be sweating.

Best Spicy

This Ninja Squirrel sriracha has a real kick! While all of these hot sauces have heat, this one punches you in the face with one bite. If you want the best sriracha for heat lovers, this should be your go-to. I wasn’t really expecting much based on the packaging, and it totally proved me wrong. I love heat, so I loved this. And before you come for me in the comments: No, it’s not the spiciest thing in the world. Suppose your heat tolerance is so high that this is not spicy to you. Awesome. That being said, this has a nice kick that I think most people will find spicy and enjoy.

Best Sweet & Spicy

This Yellowbird sriracha really tastes like the ingredients listed on the label were simply tossed into a food processor and then bottled. Obviously that is what happened, but you can really taste it. Do you get what I’m saying? You can taste the individual ingredients. You get specific notes of lime and date. If I’m not making sense to you, just trust me and buy it. This is some of the best sriracha because it is the perfect combination of sweet, acidic, and spicy. Yum!

Best Everyday

People think of Huy Fong when they think of sriracha for a reason. It tastes good! It’s super garlicky and very acidic. There’s a little kick that would complement so many foods. It’s affordable, accessible, and good on just about everything. You simply cannot argue with Huy Fong Foods. We do send our condolences to the Southern California city where it is manufactured, though.

Most Unique

This is a show-stopping sriracha. Bushwick Kitchen makes a few versions of its Weak Knees sriracha (gochujang and super spicy gochujang, in addition to curry), but this was our favorite. I want to put this on crispy fried chicken. I also want to mix it with mayo to make the perfect fry sauce. And, sure, yes: I want to squirt it straight into my mouth. It’s just that good. After we recommended it on TikTok, lots of our followers bought it and agree that it is phenomenal. I’m not saying we’re always right, but we are right a lot.

Best Garlicky

I had never even heard of the brand Sky Valley before trying this sriracha. Lucky for me, their sriracha is great! In fact, it’s one of the best we tried. It’s so garlicky and we absolutely loved that. It’s spicy, but not too spicy. I want chicken wings drenched in the stuff. This mixed with butter and then slathered all over crispy wings? I’m salivating.

A quick Google search will tell you that this is the real, original sriracha. After one taste, you can tell. This is so deliciously complex. It hits every single taste bud on my tongue. It’s spicy, sour, garlicky, salty, and even a little sweet. My only frustration is that this comes in a small bottle. It was so tasty that I want,—no, need—a big bottle of it. I will never go back to putting any other sriracha on my Thai food.
